Silica is a natural ingredient in a variety of cereals, such as wheat, oats and barley. Due to food processing, it is often removed from what we eat, increasing the need for supplementation in order to get the nutrients we need to stay healthy. Silica supplements have been shown to help the body in numerous ways and many internet sources suggest that silica is beneficial to humans.

Recommended intake: 1 heaped teaspoon per day to be taken in water, smoothie or juice; remember to stir well to prevent your Diatomaceous Earth (DE) from settling.

Best taken before food.

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH INFORMATION AND USES

"Food Grade" Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is an eco-friendly naturally organic material from the purest fresh water source. Diatomaceous Earth, fossil shell flour, is the fossilized remains of microscopic shells created by one-celled plants called Diatoms. Vegan.

Fresh water diatoms form a harder shell and are less fragile than those in salt water. Salt-water deposits contain a mix of diatom species.

Diatomaceous Earth has many uses.

PEST CONTROL

To insects, DE is a dust with microscopic razor sharp edges. These sharp edges cut through the insect's protective covering drying it out and killing them when they are either dusted with DE or if it applied as a wettable powder spray. If they ingest the DE it will shred their insides.

ANIMAL USE
As a feed additive for livestock, birds, pets, and humans providing up to 14 trace minerals to the system, reducing odors, reduce fly hatch and stopping animals from licking holes and chewing fence posts.
HUMAN USE
Silica is available in a number of foods, such as wheat, oats, & barley. However, it often is depleted from foods due to processing, making supplementation necessary. Silica supplementation has been shown to help the body in numerous ways. It has demonstrated an ability to help the body deal with dry skin and associated conditions, brittle nails, hair thinning, dandruff and burns (including sunburn).
