This striking informative poster features the 16 fundamental human rights that are protected by The Human Rights Act in UK law.

Many of the ideas behind the Human Rights Act have been around for over 800 years. The Magna Carta, was issued in England in June 1215 and was the first document to put into writing the principle that the king and his government was not above the law.

It’s important that we all know our human rights and that we must defend them and reclaim them, as some governments pass laws that severely restrict our rights and freedoms.

World War II was a stark example of what happens when there are no limits on power, such as the atrocities committed by Hitler. Following that, governments across the world came together to agree a set of human rights that all countries should follow on how they treat people. The goal was to make sure that never again can any government (including an elected one) decide who matters and who does not.

This striking informative poster is a must on a prominent wall as a daily reminder to us all of our rights in these modern times of restrictive government practices and blanket surveillance.
